Everyone has a secret..

OK, well now you may know mine, but everyone has a secret.  Now, as long as its not a secret that hurts others, with the exception of Batman of course…

So, years ago, someone told me that you can’t be TWO different people, you are only one, and pretending to be someone else won’t work for long.  I know this to be true, and hopefully you all can take some of this and realize that you can only be ONE true person.  And thats who you should be.

Sure I wear different hats, father, husband, doctor, son, etc.  But I try and stay true to who I really am.  I can’t wear fancy clothes, I can’t act mature, I can’t not smile or laugh.  I am me, through and through.  Sure, I can wear dress clothes for a short stint, wedding or funeral, thats respect, not changing who I am…  What I am talking about is playing one role with some people and another with others.  You need to be yourself.  Who ever that is.

Now, the question is WHO ARE YOU??  Really, who are you?  Depends on your age, but most of you reading this have already played so many roles, you probably lost track of the real you awhile back.  This starts when we are kids, remember back, you probably were two different people depending on whether your parents were in view or not…

So, take some time, go through those roles you have played, find the things that make you happy and start figuring out who you truly are.  Life will be much more fun when you play it out as your TRUE self.  Trust me…

Who are you Competing Against?

OK, this is a good picture, phrase and post for those who have set goals.  Who are you competing against?  Is it a friend, a competitor, rival or ???

Setting a goal, whether money, weight loss, personal development or whatever, the only person you are truly competing with is yourself.  Look in the mirror, study that person and get busy changing that person into who they need to be to achieve your goal.  To WIN the competition…

Yes, goals, dreams and personal development are competitions and you should be playing to win.  If you aren’t ready to sweat, bleed and win, then maybe you need to stare into that mirror until you are ready to make that commitment.

It takes action to win, yes, positive thinking is great, but if you just sit their waiting for the universe to deliver your dreams, you better bring diapers.  It takes action, blood sweat and tears to reach a goal, dream and change.  Get up, get out and get it done…

Grumpy Cat knows all.

This cat is hilarious, but why?  Well he seems to relate to so many people out there.  Yes, too many people out there are grumpy to say the least.

Why?  Because its monday?  Not likely, everyone loves mondays right?  Well why are so many people grumpy?

I believe many are grumpy because they don’t have a dream to chase.  They haven’t set goals or have ideas of where to go.  Its not the end of the world, there are so many places that can help you develop and reach your goals, its just that many people don’t use them.

So, here I sit, writing this blog, looking around I can see those elusive happy people, but I also see so many others that just seem plain grumpy.  I can’t talk to each of them and let them know they are special, I can help a few of them understand that life should be full of joy and happiness, not glum and gloom though.

Will that help?  I don’t know, I do know that some people will find the desire and drive to set goals and reach dreams, others just won’t.  Its sad but true.  You can lead a person to the well, but some won’t drink unless a glass of water is given to them.

My goal in writing this today is that maybe some of you reading it will step up and let others you see know that they are special, they have the right to set goals and reach their dreams.  You can do your part, and its up to them to take the action needed to get on the path to a happier and fuller life.

Ok Monday, Lets Do This….

Hey everyone, its monday morning.  Hopefully my friends and family back in ND are all cuddled up around a fire, enjoying the quiet family time.

But for the rest of us, its monday morning, time to rise and SHINE!!!!  Yes, SHINE in a Monday morning.  Its not hard, just put your mind to it and make it happen.

Mondays are a great day to start positively and make moves that get you closer to your goals, dreams and desires.  Maybe today is the day you ask that girl her name, ask your boss for more important stuff to do, maybe you start eating less junk and more good stuff?  Today is Monday, make something happen that will change your life for the better…

I wish all who read this, everyone I know will never have to say “What If…..”  Those are terrible words to have to say, and I know many people keep those words in their heads, going over the situation, wasting precious life on worrying about something that is over and done with.  If you missed your What if moment, learn from it and move on.  Don’t waste time dwelling on it, go looking for new moments where you won’t ever have to say “What IF”.

Ok, so this is an inspirational blog, about dreams, goals and moving towards them.  But sometimes in life, SH$T happens right?  Sometimes you just need to sit back and roast a marshmellow or two.  LOL

Now I don’t want you to burn down the store, but taking a step back, a shot or two of bourbon and relaxing in a lawn chair is needed.  Clearing your mind, relaxing your body, just being……  Maybe thats what Fridays are for?

Ok, maybe saturdays, LOL.  But you should take time each week to relish in your success, go over your failures, and regroup.  In order to do that sometimes you need to let go and just BE!!!!

So remember to keep your focus, enjoy your life and keep moving towards your goals, dreams and desires.  But also take a mental break to just BE.

Monday Motivation, Special…

Yes, you!!!   Are Special.  Everyone, everywhere is special.  Don’t every forget that.

Sure, sometimes we feel like life is just using us for some cruel game, but trust me, we aren’t given anything we can’t handle.  It may seem hard, impossible even, but thats when we need to believe in ourselves even more.  We will have ups an downs, but if you choose not to get back up, the game has won.

Whatever is happening right now with you, will change, everything changes.  And change is actually good, can you imagine if things stayed exactly the same, we would go insane.  I can make anything “not boring” for awhile, but if things don’t change eventually, I would go even more  crazy than I am now..

So, bite down, take what is dished out and find your way back up.  This is life, its way to short to not be happy and growing.

Monday Motivation…

Ok,  its monday, sun is shining here at least too.

Mondays are a great day to start a new venture, new goal or new way of life.  If you have read any of this blog, you will know I love mondays.  You don’t need a new year to set goals, resolutions, you just need monday!!!

So, what can you do this week to start moving your life to where you want it to be?  Come on, think, what do you day dream about?  Vacationing somewhere exotic? Making more money?  Losing weight?  Well stop day dreaming, its monday lets start moving towards your dream.

It doesn’t have to be a life changing step, maybe its just putting $20 dollars into a savings account?  Or maybe its not eating that fatty snack, maybe its finishing something you started.  Whatever it is, DO IT!!!!

You have a week, then you get another Monday to start another goal or continue with this one.  But don’t waste it, you are only here for a brief time, make the most of it.

Why We Shoot Deer…..

This came acrossed my email, still laughing about it....


WHY WE SHOOT DEER--
 Why we shoot deer in the wild. (A letter from someone who wants to remain anonymous, who farms, writes well, and actually tried this).

I had this idea that I could rope a deer, put it in a stall, feed it
corn for a couple of weeks, then kill it and eat it. The first step in this
adventure was getting a deer. I figured that, since they congregate
at my cattle feeder and do not seem to have much fear of me when we are
there (a bold one will sometimes come right up and sniff at the bags of feed
while I am in the back of the truck not 4 feet away) it should not be
difficult to get up to it, toss a bag over its head (to calm it down) hog tie it
with a rope and transport it home.
 I filled the cattle feeder then hid down at the end with my rope. The
cattle, having seen the roping thing before, stayed well back. They
were not having any of it. After about 20 minutes, my deer showed up - 3 of
them. I picked out a likely-looking one, stepped out from the end of
the feeder, and threw my rope.
 The deer just stood there and stared at me. I wrapped the rope
around my waist and twisted the end so I would have a good hold. The deer
still just stood and stared at me, but you could tell it was mildly concerned
about the whole rope situation. I took a step towards it, it took a step
away. I put a little tension on the rope, and then received an education.
 The first thing I learned is that, while a deer may just stand there
looking at you funny while you rope it, they are spurred to action when you
start pulling on that rope.

That deer EXPLODED. The second thing I learned is that pound for pound, a deer is a LOT
stronger than a cow or a colt. A cow or a colt in that weight range I could
fight down with a rope and with some dignity. A deer-- no chance. That
thing ran and bucked and twisted and pulled. There was no controlling it and
certainly no getting close to it. As it jerked me off my feet and started
dragging me across the ground, it occurred to me that having a deer on a rope
was not nearly as good an idea as I had originally imagined. The only upside
is that they do not have as much stamina as many other animals.
 
A brief 10 minutes later, it was tired and not nearly as quick to
jerk me off my feet and drag me when I managed to get up. It took me a few
minutes to realize this, since I was mostly blinded by the blood flowing
out of the big gash in my head. At that point, I had lost my taste for corn-fed
venison. I just wanted to get that devil creature off the end of
that rope.
 I figured if I just let it go with the rope hanging around its neck, it
would likely die slowly and painfully somewhere. At the time, there
was no love at all between me and that deer. At that moment, I hated the
thing, and I would venture a guess that the feeling was mutual.
 Despite the gash in my head and the several large knots where I had
cleverly arrested the deer's momentum by bracing my head against various
large rocks as it dragged me across the ground, I could still think clearly
enough to recognize that there was a small chance that I shared some tiny
amount of responsibility for the situation we were in.
 I didn't want the deer to have to suffer a slow death, so I managed
to get it lined back up in between my truck and the feeder - a little trap
I had set before hand....kind of like a squeeze chute. I got it to back in
there and I started moving up so I could get my rope back.
 Did you know that deer bite?
 They do! I would have never in a million years thought that a deer
would bite somebody, so I was very surprised when ...... I reached up
there to grab that rope and the deer grabbed hold of my wrist. Now, when a
deer bites you, it is not like being bit by a horse where they just bite you
and slide off to then let go. A deer bites you and shakes its head--almost
like a pit bull. They bite HARD and it hurts.
 
The proper thing to do when a deer bites you is probably to freeze
and draw back slowly. I tried screaming and shaking instead. My method was
ineffective.
 It seems like the deer was biting and shaking for several minutes,
but it was likely only several seconds. I, being smarter than a deer
(though you may be questioning that claim by now), tricked it. While I kept it busy
tearing the tendons out of my right arm, I reached up with my left
hand and pulled that rope loose.
 That was when I got my final lesson in deer behavior for the day.
 Deer will strike at you with their front feet. They rear right up on
their back feet and strike right about head and shoulder level, and their
hooves are surprisingly sharp ... I learned a long time ago that, when an
animal - like a horse - strikes at you with their hooves and you can't get away
easily, the best thing to do is try to make a loud noise and make an
aggressive move towards the animal. This will usually cause them to
back down a bit so you can escape.
 This was not a horse. This was a deer, so obviously, such trickery
would not work. In the course of a millisecond, I devised a different strategy. I
screamed like a woman and tried to turn and run. The reason I had
always been told NOT to turn and run from a horse that paws at you is that
there is a good chance that it will hit you in the back of the head.
 Deer may not be so different from horses after all, besides being
twice as strong and 3 times as evil, because the second I turned to run, it
hit me right in the back of the head and knocked me down.
 Now, when a deer paws at you and knocks you down, it does not 
immediately leave. I suspect it does not recognize that the danger has passed.
What they do instead is paw your back and jump up and down on you while
you are lying there crying like a little girl and covering your head.

I finally managed to crawl under the truck and the deer went away.

So now I know why when people go deer hunting, they bring a rifle
with a scope - to sort of even the odds!!

Anyone Can Give Up..

Ok, you know I always try and find the positive in every situation right?  Well I haven’t suffered great loss, divorce or any of the many other tragic events that can occur.

I still believe in finding the positive, never giving up and always moving forward.  That being said, what would drive someone to move forward after a life changing event?  ………

Dreams, Goals, Adventures….

So, having a goal or dream is the key.  If you don’t have one, take some quiet time and really think about what you want, where you want to be and then how you can get there.  Sure, this maybe a 10 year journey, or maybe its a few months, but you need to have dreams and goals to live your life to its fullest.
