Its that Time Again…

titleHey, New Years Eve 2012.  Time to write again about resolutions and making the new year better, brighter and more fun.

I don’t really need to tell you to write down your resolutions, hopefully you will already do that.  But, the key is accountability.  You need to hold yourself accountable, or find someone to hold you accountable for your goals.

Writing them down is the first step, second step is to look at them frequently, third would be to DO THEM, make them real and true.

If you have a spouse that is supportive, bring them in on it, make them hold you accountable.  Maybe you can use facebook, social media or other means to place accountability on you, but you do need to be accountable.  It just doesn’t work without accountability.

So, simply put, write out your resolutions, put them everywhere you can to see them often and find accountability.

Have a great 2013 and I will hopefully be here to keep you motivated.

You Hit Like a B^%CH…

titleHappy two days after Christmas, wanted to get back on track and prepare for the new year.

Its hard sometimes for me to accept change, I am a creature of routine, I like things rolling along smoothly.  KISS is my moto, keep it super simple…I have office shirts, so I don’t have to deal with what to wear, I have a morning routine, workout, coffee, blog, etc..  I like that.

The holidays are great, but getting back to my routine is nice.  NOW, new years is coming up, I am in need of making some serious changes to my routine, all to help me work towards my goals.  I won’t like it for awhile, but when i get the routine down, I will love it.

What kinds of things are you planning for the new year?  Are you making a list?  Checking it Twice?????  You need to, research shows that writing it down and actually looking at it will increase your chances of success hugely..

Prepare and WIN!!!

Dance Like No One is Watching

titleIts Monday morning, found inspiration already this morning. I do love that saying, and if you have seen my dance, you know I live it true….

Being who you are is important, if you are a silly person, trying to hide that silliness won’t get you to where you want to go.  You can’t really be two people at he same time.  Sure you can be a doctor and a dad, but you are still you, funny, smart, dedicated, etc..

If you try and be someone else to please others, your true self will eventually come out and scare the hell out of whoever you were pretending for.  Let your greatness shine all the time, you will attract those that can help and those that like you for who you are, not for who you pretend to be.

Sometimes its what you DON’T see.

titleChiropractic has the glacier pic, business has this one.  But either one tells us that we should not judge a book by its cover, until we have read it.  Or, maybe don’t just someone else until you have walked 100 miles in their shoes.

Everyone is on a journey, everyone is at different stages of that journey, some people are just starting, some  are almost done.  We can judge people by first impressions, last impressions or anywhere in between. It’s not who they are, I still judge people, I try not too, but its kinda programmed into me.  I try hard to stop myself and give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but its hard.

So, starting today, try and build in a safety switch, stop judging people by first impressions, spend time seeing who they really truly are and reserve judgement for later.

Have a great weekend.

Always give 100%.

titleOk, its 23% tuesday apparently. This is one thing I have never understood. As an athlete, I never once thought I wouldn’t win. If I would have thought that, what was the use of playing?
The same should go with work and life don’t ya think. If you don’t think you can do it, why try it half assed? You should take pride in your work, whatever it is. If you don’t like what you do, give 100% anyway, while you search for something you do like.
I can’t understand people who bitch about their job, if you don’t like it, don’t do it. If you aren’t qualified for a better job, why in the hell aren’t you learning, growing and working towards what you want?
I live in MN, yes, its been called a “Welfare” State, and maybe I am jaded in this area. People seem to think they are ENTITLED to things. I have people getting mad at me because I won’t give them free service, I have them complain to me that the dentist won’t pull their teeth for free, the auto mechanic won’t fix their care for free, the world is against them, etc..

Listen people, not all of you, not even most of you, but SOME of you, you aren’t entitled to cell phones, internet, cable TV, free medical, daycare, food and the like if you aren’t going to try and better yourself and your situation.

Now, sorry for my rant, back to giving 100%. I think I already said what I wanted too, if you aren’t giving 100% everyday, you need to find something new to do. If you aren’t qualified, find a way to learn, train and get where you want to go. No one has to be unhappy, that is a choice you make. So, how about making a choice to be happy and get where you want to be…….

How is you week going?

titleOK, some weeks are better than others.  But even this guy in the pic is planning, thinking and preparing for his future goals.  Oh, and he is waiting for someone to bring him some pants…

Life is about ups and downs, sometimes there are more downs in one week than ups.  How do you deal with those?  Do you give up, lay in bed, try and forget what happened and wait for an up?  God I hope not, what you need to do when your week has downs, is step back, take a deep breath and look at what went wrong, try and see how it could be fixed and then take another deep breath and get you ass moving in the right direction.

There isn’t time for feeling sorry, making excuses or waiting.  Life is short, this game does have an end point, of which you don’t know the end.  Make it a point to be doing, creating and moving in a positive direction.  Sure, you and i will always have downs, some more that others, but we need to learn from them, change what we did and push on.  Trust me, it will be a blast when we get where we are going….

Mistakes are good..

titleHey, if you made it this far in life without making a mistake, you are probably not a very fun person.  Mistakes are necessary, they are common, they are part of life.  We are human after all.

But what we do when we make a mistake is the key to growing.  Do you immediately place blame on someone else, something else for the mistake?  That is not growing, that is WHINING!!!

We need to first take control of the mistake, understand why it happened, accept it and use it to help you move forward.  If you know me, I make my fair share of mistakes, and yes, in the past I have used excuses, blame and denial, but that got me knowwhere.  Now I try and accept it, change my thinking and move on toward my goals.  Sure, I still slip up, but somewhere down the road I remember to own the mistake and move on from there.  So please remember not to place blame on mistakes, just accept it happened, make the changes needed and move on.
