“I’m Bored…”

tgimpage.com

We all live the same life, but seems some people don’t really seem to understand that every minute or every moment is precious.  Those that know me know I have kids, and those the truly know me understand my philosophy of life…..

My kids, I find seem to be bored quite often, which, drives me nuts being quiet time is the perfect time to dream, plan and prepare for what someone wants out of life.

Lets face it, we aren’t here for but a minute second in time, we were put on this planet to create and live life to its fullest.  True, some people believe that they need money, time or circumstance to make life worth living, but truly,  all one needs is an imagination, the ability to enjoy this particular moment and willingness to love life.

My kids don’t get it, but especially when they are bored, I thrive on inspiring them to build either mind or body.  Growing up with me, hell, living with me is not easy I bet, but there is never a dull moment.  Both my boys are way above average in math, they understand the rules and follow them, but they are learning that their dad lives pretty much outside the box in everything he does.  They can’t “BE BORED” because there isn’t such a thing, they can be lazy and not use their mind or body, but they can never be truly “BORED”.  Just reading, using your imagination, drawing or moving their bodies will make them understand and appreciate life and why we are here.

I started this post because I love people and life, can’t understand how people can be bored when we have a mind and body that need to be challenged, but I do understand that we also need quiet time to rest our bodies and minds.  So, if you believe you have have worked our mind, body and imagination enough for the day, then shut down and just enjoy the peace, love your life and wake to another day of creation.

Yes, I do believe we are all here to create, whether its laughter, entertainment, scientific development, love, art or health, we all have a purpose and need to work to fulfill that purpost.  It might be just a call to an old friend or maybe its a cure for cancer, but we all have a purpose and thats to create, something.

So, spending time being bored is not in my realm or those I love, my job is to create a method or way for everyone to TRUELY ENJOY every second of every minute of this life, created and be AMAZING in everyway they can.  You are truly a beautiful and creative person who deserves to spend their time creating things, events, moments that will help others grow, develope and become the people they are supose to become.

You Hit Like a Bi%&h…

tgimpage.com

Its hard sometimes for me to accept change, I am a creature of routine, I like things rolling along smoothly.  KISS is my moto, keep it super simple…I have office shirts, so I don’t have to deal with what to wear, I have a morning routine, workout, coffee, blog, etc..  I like that.

Sometimes that routine gets disturbed and I have to find ways to function like I normally do.  Sometimes lifechanging things occur that call for a total revamping of ones routine, sometimes change is just needed.

I don’t like change!!!!  LOL  As I get older, I understand change is needed but I still fight it.  Why is that do you think?

Well our bodies are made to adapt and overcome small changes constantly, they adapt with amazing precision to 1000’s of things every second of every day.  Its the big changes that are hard for us as humans, we have this distinct ability to reason, think and dream, which makes change hard for some of us.   Stuff happen in life, stuff we can’t control, stuff we can control and that “STUFF” sometimes requires us to change our way of life.  New babies, marriage, jobs, etc are all usually wonderful reasons to change, and sometimes that easier also.  Cancer, money troubles, loss of life and other stuff we sometimes have no control over and that makes change quite a bit tougher.

Life is full of ups and downs, changing to adapt to these is what makes us survive and thrive as humans, so when life knocks you down, get your butt back up and let life know you aren’t beaten, you just need to adjust a few things and try again.

Prepare and WIN!!!

Walk a Mile…..

walk a mile in my shoes

Morning, those that know me well, know I am wired a little differently.  I have tried really hard to be a good person, help others and try and set an example for others to follow.

When I was young, I was bullied quite a bit due to the fact I was overweight, hell, I was fat.  I countered the bullies with humor when I could and worked really hard to loose weight and become the man I am today.  But, there was one incident where I became a bully and it still bothers me to this day.  There was an older kid I looked up to who was picking on a smaller boy, I joined in and have never been the same since that moment.

I won’t go into the feelings I had, but remember that there were many nights where I couldn’t sleep because I was thinking about what I had done.  After too  many nights I finally found the boy, apologized and actually made a friend out of the deal.  I am telling you this story because the other day at the gym, I finally understood that I see the world differently the many people out there.  So here is what happened.

An older gentleman was stretching on a mat at the gym, he finished and got up and left.  As he was leaving another gentleman got down on the mat to do his stretching and just started cussing and fussing about the fact that this man had left his towel and there was also a drop of sweat or water on the mat.  He was so upset at this guy he was getting up to go confront him when I reached down, took the towel and wiped up the wet spot.  I told the guy not to get so upset, its taken care of, but this guy was going to tell the staff and get this guy in trouble anyway.

I listened to this guy bitch for a good 2-3 minutes about how no one seems to behave the way they should, have respect for thing, etc.  When he finished, I was giggling (which didn’t really make him any happier) and told the guy to just calm down and listen.

I started explaining to him that he doesn’t know what that mans life is like, maybe his wife has alzheimer’s, or has died, maybe he is sick and can’t sleep at night, maybe he just lost his job, or maybe he really is an asshole.  But you can’t pretend to know what people are going through, what they are dealing with unless you actually get to know them.  He was calmed down and actually giggling by the time I said asshole, so I know he got the point.  Anyway, today he approached me at the gym and he talked about how he is trying to not judge people until he can understand them a bit, he said its truly harder than anything he has ever done.

I imagine there are too many people out there who don’t give a damn about others because their own life is spend dealing with there own issues, its a shame really there are so many great people out there that no one will ever get to know because they judge too quickly.  I didn’t want this to be a lecture but PEOPLE, please remember you cannot judge someone until you have walked a mile in their shoes (and that is actually far from true, maybe live a year in their life so you get a feel for how they deal with things), try and give everyone the same chance to impress you and you will be truly surprised with the results.  Yes, there are assholes out there and you will run into them often, but try not to let that change how you see people as a whole.

This really has nothing to do with chiropractic, but it has to do with community and being I live an work in Hastings, this seemed to fit.  Sorry it was so long, but I think its a point everyone needs to look at, yes it is hard to not judge on first impression, but trying is the key to making this work.  Have a great week and enjoy the sunshime and possible T-storm today…

You Have to Love Yourself….and….

love

I kinda stole this from a friends facebook post, but it is so good, I have to share.

This blog was started by myself to help people build, inspire and live a fun, fulfilling life.  If you go back and read through, you will see humor, inspiration and many posts on goals and working towards them.

What I seem to have left out till this point was the fact that you need to love and believe in yourself to make things happen.  Love is a funny thing, but it IS NECESSARY and required to enjoy a happy fulfilling life.

We are amazing creatures, being a chiropractor and knowing the things I know about how our bodies work, how amazing and adaptive we are, how we function and grow, it makes it even more special.

You need to understand how special you are, there are people everywhere that you touch in a special way, they love you, need you and if you haven’t accepted their love, you are missing out on something HUGE.  I just saw two experiments on how people perceive themselves and how others perceive them, it was truly amazing to see how others see beauty when in you when you don’t….  You are beautiful, you are special, you are amazing, why not accept that?

Spend some time exploring yourself, find those things that make you warm inside and embrace them, love them, love yourself…Then go out and spread that love, see how the world changes with just you….

Follow Directions..

Ok, so if you are a guy, you might not read the directions right off, but eventually you will.  Directions are nice, usually simple steps to get what needs to be done, done.

Life doesn’t come with directions unfortunately.  Sure, some people may try and sell you some instructions on living, but in reality, we are all totally different people, with different memories, different experiences, different ways of dealing with things, etc..

We are all different, directions for life usually don’t apply to more than a few people.  Yes, there are basic guidelines to live by, check out the bible, there are 10 good guidelines to live by in there.   But for living outside of the basic guidelines, there aren’t truly correct instructions for people to follow.

So what should we do?  This is where goals can help, setting goals is a good way to find a path to follow.  Goals that help others and yourself are good too.  But everyone of us is different in so many ways, finding what works for you best is the key.  It may take time to figure out whats best for you, but trying is a good start.  Maybe you are kinda like me, dressing for success didn’t work for me, I don’t feel comfortable or like myself wearing a tie and dress shirt.  I feel much more comfortable and like myself in jeans and a polo.  Fitness, diet and lifestyles all fit into this plan too.  Some people get better benefits from certain workouts because they “fit” them better, diet the same.

So, look at the things you are doing that make you uncomfortable, find more comfortable ways to do those things, ways that you feel better doing them.  This will take stress out of your life, hopefully helping you find your path to reach your goal quicker and easier.

You will be knocked down, you HAVE to get back up..

inspire mondays

Yes, its True, I am a Vikings Fan.  Maybe we can get some life lessons out of this though??  LOL

Life is fun, you will get knocked down, dragged through the mud and left sitting in your underwear on a roadside somewhere.  But, you will get back us, find some pants and get yourself back on track right?

It’s part of life, things can’t go your way all the time, there are bumps, craters and mountains in your path.  How are you going to overcome them?

I think the easiest way to deal with obstacles is to have a goal, dream or vision of where you are going.  This will help you refocus and get back up after one of your falls.  Having a dream, goal or vision of your life gives you kinda a road map of where you are going, so when you do get knocked down, you can get up, look over your “map” and get back on track.

It’s not a hard thing to do, have a goal, its pretty easy.  But if you don’t write that goal down, program it into your phone or look at it, you will not have the drive and desire to get that goal.  There are too many books out there on the subject of setting and reaching goals, pick one, read it, do it and have your map handy when you need it.

You Can Change What is Not Right..

inspirational monday

So, happy monday!!!  The sun is shining, cool weather is upon us here in MN and my Vikings aren’t looking very good yet.

But we can change what is wrong and still hit our goal.  What about you?  If you are not happy where you are, you can change things to make them more suitable, you just need to DO IT.

Yes, somethings are harder than others, but like the picture says, if you aren’t happy where you are, move…  You aren’t “Stuck”, maybe you can’t be where you want today, but if you aren’t moving towards where you want to be, you need to.

Lets say you aren’t happy at your job, no excuses, what do you need to do to move towards where you would be happy?  More school? Better skills?  What????  Instead of bitching and moaning about it, change it….  It’s not hard to start taking a class or program that will move you closer to your goal, it just has to be done.  With online colleges, weekend classes, if school is what you need, just get busy doing it.  One class at a time….

If you need some other skills, look at your local community education stuff, there are classes on just about everything from yoga to excel computer skills to welding…. Find what you need and look for it.  Its out there somewhere, and probably not that expensive either.

Stop making excuses, complaining and just start moving toward where you want to be…..

Never Give Up!

never give up

Hey, Happy Thursday…

Never Give Up!!  Thats a great saying, there are many great saying that can go along with it, “When Life Gives You Lemons, When Life Knocks You Down, When the Going Get Tough…..”

But Never Give Up is so straightforward, I like it the best.  So, never give up on what???  Well, to me its Never Give Up on whats important, that could be my goal, my family, my friends….

It doesn’t mean keep trying the same thing until it works, it means finding that special way of doing it that works.  Sure, there will be many things out of your control sometimes, but that doesn’t mean give up.  It means find that special way of doing it that eliminates or reduces the things you can’t control.

This can be an easy process, or like somethings, hard as hell.  But Never Giving Up will leave the hope and desire to get to where you want to be.

Sometimes a Challenge is needed….

tgimpage.com

OK, so maybe this challenge is a bit out there, but WOW.

Riding routine is a good way to stay consistent, but challenging oneself will help move you to the next level and beyond.  Challenging yourself, your mind, body and spirit will remind you of your goal and purpose.

Finding the right challenges may not be easy, but pick and choose them based on where you are and where you want to go.  Maybe you want to run a marathon, but you weigh 250 and live on a couch…..Then maybe the first challenge is to GET OFF THE COUCH!!!!  Maybe you need more customers, but are introverted?  First challenge could be to stop in somewhere and market your service to just one person?  Next challenge maybe to talk to 5, then 50??

Doesn’t matter what the challenge is, just that it is taking you in the right direction towards your goals.  Be creative, use your mind, desire and goal to find a good challenge to take you one step closer to your desired goal.

Happy Monday.

inspiration by linden

First off, apologies for my being AWOL lately, but summer is here and its way too much fun.

So, lost my mind for a bit, but fear not, school starts next week and my schedule should somewhat stabilize.  Losing ones mind isn’t such a bad thing as long as you know you can get it back.

Spending time away from work, stress and life is good sometimes.  We took a week and went to the Black Hills of SD, let the kids climb around Mt Rushmore and see a Corn Palace, Wall Drug and the works available to the world in SD.

We swam, slid down water slides, played in parks, had fun.  Now, back to reality and life.  So, what do you do to lose your mind?  Hopefully it is a natural way, drugs and alcohol don’t free your mind like it needs.  Find your happy place, create somewhere you can free your mind and let your body relax, could be for 5 minutes, or a week, doesn’t matter.  Just find or create your place….

I will make a more dedicated effort to keep posting fun, inspirational stuff from here on out (at least until next summer arrives).  And believe me, there is plenty.  I could have started today with Miley Cyrus stuff, but maybe another day.
